Lesson 35

Lesson from practice today.  This was the first time that I introduced actions with footwork (feint with an advance and blade seizure) to the student.  I am also starting to introduce to him the idea that I might change the actions a couple of times and that he will have to adjust his own actions accordingly.  For instance, I might add a parry at the end of his attack, forcing him to renew the attack or counter parry, disengage when he attempts to engage, etc…
  1. From the instructor’s invitation  in 3rd, straight thrust
  2. In time, as the instructor changes from the engagement of 4th to the invitation in 3rd, straight thrust
  3. In time, as the instructor attempts to engage in 3rd, disengagement
  4. In time, as the instructor places blade in line, engage in 4th and glide
  5. From the instructor’s invitation in 3rd, feint direct and disengagement
  6. From the instructor’s invitation in 3rd, feint direct and disengagement with a lunge
  7. From the student’s invitation in 3rd, blade seizure in 4th and glide
  8. From the instructor’s invitation in 3rd, three straight thrusts, end of lesson.
