Lesson 39
Yesterday, at practice, I called a lesson for another instructor to teach to a student. Here’s what we did:
- From the invitation in 3rd, straight thrust
- In time, as the instructor invites in 3rd, straight thrust
- In time, as the instructor attempts to engage in 3rd, disengagement.
- In time, as the instructor places blade in line, glide in 3rd.
- From the student’s engagement in 3rd, time thrust in 4th to the face.
- In time, student engages in 3rd. Instructor gives counter-pressure against the engagement, student disengages.
- Same thing, but the instructor has the option to not give counter-pressure, in which case the student should glide in 3rd.
- Same thing, but the instructor may do a disengagement in time, in which case the student should execute a time thrust in 4th to the face.
- In time, blade seizure in 4th and glide
- Same thing, instructor may give counter-pressure, in which case the student finishes with a disengagement instead of a glide.
- From the instructor’s invitation in 3rd, three straight thrusts, end of lesson.
